Communications Specialist

Our full-time communications specialist role at our office in Durham Region may be a match for you.

As our communications specialist you will champion and manage our communications to members and stakeholders on all fronts, reporting to the Executive Director.  Your duties will include:

Handling the writing and design of various marketing, policy, and promotional communication materials, including a weekly e-bulletin and quarterly print bulletin, using design software.
Maintaining our corporate website
Managing our ongoing advertising sales programs
Co-ordinating media inquiries
Managing our social media presence on a variety of platforms
Managing inquiries, reporting and tracking related to our key marketing, promotional, and policy initiatives and our community events
Required skills and experience for this position include:

Planning, analysis and reporting skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to respond quickly to issues and opportunities, with poise and maturity
Ability to balance competing priorities and work to deadlines
Proficiency in MS Office Suite and design software
Social media planning and execution
Relevant post-secondary education
Experience in roles demonstrating these skills, with 2+ years preferred
You must also have a valid driver’s licence and have ongoing use of your own vehicle.
