Policy Specialist Job Profile

As our policy specialist you will champion and manage our communications to members and stakeholders on all fronts, reporting to the Executive Director. Your duties will include:

Co-ordinating all external media inquiries
Managing inquiries, reporting and tracking related to our key policy and profile building marketing initiatives and community events
Handling the writing and design of communications to support various policy and profile building marketing initiatives and community events including a weekly e-bulletin and quarterly print bulletin, using design software
Maintaining an up-to-date corporate website and other paid communication vehicles that showcase these initiatives
Managing our social media presence on a variety of platforms
Required skills and experience for this position include:

Planning, analysis and reporting skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to respond quickly to issues and opportunities, with poise and maturity
Ability to balance competing priorities and work to deadlines
Proficiency in MS Office Suite and design software
Social media planning and execution
Relevant post-secondary education
Experience in roles demonstrating these skills, with 2+ years preferred
You must also have a valid driver’s licence and have ongoing use of your own vehicle.
