Employment salary for this job: Range from $12.52 – $12.75/hr (salary depends on work experience)

Children’s Ages: Infant: 3 – 11 months

Duties:

  • Wash, iron, press clothing and household liners
  • Prepare nutritious meals, maintain a healthy and safe environment
  • Take child to and from school and appointments
  • Travel with family on trips and assist with child / infant supervision
  • Housekeeping duties and assume full responsibility for household in absence of parents
  • Bathe, dress, change diaper and feed infant/child
  • Keep record of daily developments and activities and health information
  • Instruct proper hygiene and social development of infant/child
  • Bathe, dress and feed infants and children
  • Discipline children according to the methods requested by the parents
  • Organize, activities such as games and outings for children
  • Supervise and care for children
  • Tend to emotional well-being of children
  • Sterilize bottles, prepare formulas and change diapers for infants
  • Prepare infants and children for rest periods
  • Help children with homework

 

Credentials (certificates, licenses, membership courses, etc.): Emergency Infant/Child Care First Aid Certificate, CPR Certificate, Red Cross Babysitting Course or Babysitting Certificate

Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or a diploma/certificate from a Caregiving Program for 6 months to less than 1 year

Experience: Experience in Infant/Child care in Employer’s private home
